Annual Summer Program of the Unitarian-Universalist Congregations of Madison and Sauk City – July 26, 2009
Simplicity
What is simplicity? It isn’t a very simple subject, is it? Or, are we just so removed from the simplicity of life that our complexities, chosen and not chosen, mask from us everything that might be more easily and simply experienced?
Why not, then, take some ease by spending a pleasant summer Sunday at the annual Joint UU Meeting at the Free Congregation, and hear the perspectives of several local free religious communities. We’ll take up the subject of simplicity through music, poetry, song… and perhaps other ways of expression! Andrew Kerr, Speaker of the Free Congregation, will offer a five-minute talk on simplicity, with an opportunity for dialogue and debate afterwards. Jack Holzheuter will be our resident musician.
Sometimes we all wish for the simple life. Join us this special Sunday; celebrate and explore the wish for simplicity with other UUs and freethinkers.
As always, we are delighted to have visitors. If you’d like to experience for yourself the diversity among Unitarian-Universalists (and freethinkers), this is a great time to visit us!
