Christian fundamentalists often decry secularism as the established religion of America’s public institutions. Is secular humanism a religion? What kind of religious insights might secular humanism offer? Religion usually purports to know something about what makes our lives meaningful. Does secular humanism so purport? Or, does secular humanism call the whole religious project into question? And what is secular humanism anyway?
